iACADEMY Filmmakers Spotlight Cinemalaya 2026 on JAM 88.3’s “The Rock Reset”

Two VISION Creative Unit mentees took to the airwaves when directors Lysa Catolico, Jazmine Pateña, alongside fellow filmmaker Gabriela Serrano, joined JAM 88.3’s The Rock Reset for a special feature on their film, RUNO!, one of the official short film entries to Cinemalaya 2026. Hosted by DJ April, the interview aired on July 13, 2026, giving listeners an inside look into the stories, creative processes, and experiences behind the highly anticipated film.

The guesting highlighted the growing presence of young Filipino filmmakers in the country’s independent film scene. Through the discussion, the directors shared their inspirations, the challenges of bringing their visions to life, and the importance of authentic storytelling in shaping contemporary cinema.
